“The Nagual”
“The Nagual” Nagual comes from the Nahuatl word “Nahūalli” which is a pre-Colombian religion of Shamans. The creature is described as a person who posses the power to shape shift into horrifying beasts, in order to bring chaos and death. These creatures have been the stars of many legends in the areas of Mixe, Nahua, and the town of Napotec, Mexico. Naguals are also believed to be elemental guardians who protect sacred areas of the forests from Human invaders. The many witnesses who have been attacked by a Nagual, always describe them as being a Jaguar, an owl, and more commonly a big black dog. To some these creatures are protectors of sacred grounds, and to some they are shamans who transform into beasts in order to cause harm and death. From all the known Cryptids in the Americas, the Nagual is one of the oldest, and mysterious creatures known to us all.
