Russia's youngest serial killer Between 1938 and 1939, a series of atrocious child murders took place in Soviet Russia. Small children from the ages of 2 to 4 were disappearing only later to be found brutally murdered. In total seventeen children we kidnapped. Eight children were murdered, and the surviving nine were harmed badly. The attacker, known as "The Urals monster" was 15 year old Vladimir Vinnichevsky, a local boy from a wealthy family by Soviet standards. To commit his crimes, Vinnichevsky would go around yards, saying that he was collecting scrap metal, and went around neighbourhoods, figuring out which residents had scrap allowing him to enter yards without suspicion. He would murder both boys and girls, sexually assaulting them in the process. Police struggled to find the killer due to Vinnichevsky moving locations and assumed it was a male between the ages of 20-25 years old.
