The rotting corpse of 27-year-old Carmen Yarira Noriega Esparza has been discovered inside a city’s filtration tank after residents complained of a “strange taste” in their drinking water. The aspiring actress was reported missing last January when she did not show up at the clinic where she worked. She had been last seen leaving a gym in the Mexican capital Mexico City in February last year. Police and her family believed that Esparza may have been kidnapped by a gang and forced into the sex slave business. After police failed to turn up any leads, her friends and family launched a social media campaign and posted photographs of her in public. Eleven months later, city officials were called to the tank after residents at apartments where Esparza lived complained about their foul tasting drinking water.
