This picture was taken on December 14th 2012. It shows a small child called Jesse Lewis. Jesse drew smiley faces and the words "I love you" in the frost on his moms car. 

Hours later, Jesse was shot and killed in the Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting. He is credited for saving 11 lives that day. When the shooter was reloading, Jesse noticed this opportunity and shouted "Run"! 11 classmates ran past the shooter, but Jesse was then shot because he revealed his location. Jesse Lewis was only 6 years old

The 11 children credited Jesse and his courage to saving them and giving the opportunity to save themselves, all while sacrificing himself, knowingly or unknowingly. 

27 people were killed that day. 20 children, 6 adults and including the shooter (suicide)

On the morning of December 14, 2012, a gunman killed twenty six people at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. Twenty of them were between the ages of 6 and 7.

Six-year-old Jesse Lewis was among those killed.

His mother Scarlett Lewis has spent the subsequent ten years founding and leading the Jesse Lewis Choose Love Movement, dedicated to creating safer and more loving communities.
