Former enslaved woman Aunt Druella Jones an Alabama Warrioress Archetype

Enslaved in Alabama, Jones tried to bürn the house of her former slave master down while he was asleep in it. All anyone ever said about her was that she totally despised the whi.te man. He knew she was trying to get him.

She was a revolutionary who said, "Never be loyal to the slave master." During the Civil W.ar she tried to bürn down every overseers house.

This is a photograph of Jones at the age of 94. She and two others were the only old enslaved people we found who were not loyal to their slàve owners. The photo was taken in 1915.
