Killed by witchcraft?
Naryeli Cacharuco Guillén was a young woman who enjoyed going out with friends, loved her family, and did good in school. In early January of 2020, Naryeli was found dead in her bedroom.
But she didn’t die of a natural cause or by a disease, her family reported that she had been acting strange for the past two months. Hours after Naryeli’s death, a friend of hers came to the family’s home and told Andry Guillén, mother of the late Naryeli, she had used witchcraft to kill her.
The supposed friend confessed to the family in the presence of the local police that she had fed Naryeli ashes from a diseased person, bone fragments, and several herbs that are used in the black magic known as “Palo”. This atrocious act was due to Naryeli being accused to have slept with her friend’s boyfriend and the girl wanted revenge. “Palo” is a branch of the religion known as “Santeria” a Caribbean religion commonly practiced in Cuba and Venezuela. Naryeli began to lose weight rapidly, the family reported that she also began to suffer from illusions and began to act like if she was possessed.
She was taken to the doctors and yet, they all reported she was practically healthy. No verdict has been given on the girl’s mysterious death as the authorities can’t find a logical explanation, the family reported seeing colored beat bracelets on Naryeli, which are very common in “Santeria”. Two months have past since her death and still her case remains open and it is known as the most mysterious death to be ever recorded in La Waira,Venezuela
