Kris and Lisanne’s Mysterious hiking Trip

Kris and Lisanne went on a hike through the forest in Chirikí province, Panama. The two Dutch girls, were staying with a local family who reported that they left early in the morning of April 1st, 2014.

The family, also mentioned that the girls took their dog with them, and they didn't see anything wrong on letting their dog go on a walk with them. Hours later, the family got worried as only the dog returned home. The days passed by and the girls were still missing, the family search the area with the locals and they found no trace of the girls at all. On April 6th, a woman turned in a blue backpack to the police, the backpack was found near the riverbanks while the woman was walking.

Inside the backpack, the police found two pairs of sunglasses, $83 in cash, Froon’s passport, a water bottle, two bras, and the two girl’s cellphones. Authorities reported that Kris attempted to call the police several times but the calls never went through. After investigating the area where the backpack had been found, police uncovered Kris's clothing, neatly folded along the edge of the river. Two months later, in the same area, a pelvic bone and a foot, still inside a boot, were found.

Their cause of death was never determined, and the weirdest part was that Kris’s camera displayed a bunch of photos that had no meaning as they were all pitch black. Authorities also said that several attempts to unlock Kris’s phone were made around 4:00 am. The photo below was the last photo this two friends took together, their case remains open as no further evidence has been found.
