Although their signature hair styles were not super aerodynamic, they preferred the bouffant style because “the wind doesn’t blow your hair in your face”

It was founded in 1961 to inspire girls to keep running after the age of 10

The club became a big hit and grew from just a few girls to a wait list of over 20. The coach, Mrs. Ellison, wished she could’ve redesigned the “baggy” uniforms of Team USA
