On June 14, 2000 twenty one year old Amanda Tusing left her fiance Matt Ervin’s house around 11:30PM heading home. A few hours later Matt found her car abandoned on the side of the road, and Amanda was no where to be found. 3 days later Amanda’s body was found in a drainage ditch 16 miles outside of Jonesboro in Lake City. The ditch was full of water. The medical examiner stated that Amanda’s lungs showed no signs of drowning and she was presumed deceased before entering the water. There have been no known updates or suspects in Amanda’s case. This case has been sitting cold now for 22 years. Speculation on the case. In an interview with detectives in 2000 they felt the suspect may have impersonated a Police Officer and pulled Amanda over. They speculated that this may not have been the first time the killer had done something of this nature. Without seeing the case file we aren’t sure where the basis of this speculation came from and if there was ever any evidence to prove that was the case.
