They say a mother's love knows no bounds, but a man in Palestine has proved that a child's love can be just as strong. According to reports, 30-year-old Jihad Al-Suwaiti of Hebron was devastated over his mother's recent coronavirus diagnosis. So much so, that after she was admitted to the hospital and he was prevented from visiting, he began climbing the walls of her hospital building every day until her death — just so he could watch over her from a ledge outside her window.
If he couldn't visit her inside her hospital room, he would visit her from the outside, he decided. Several weeks ago, he figured out which room was hers, scaled a drain pipe on the wall, and climbed atop a ledge outside her window.
All in all, it was a two-story climb. But once he saw his mother's face, he knew it was worth it.
"He spent most of his day there, observing his mother's condition from outside the window, before coming down when he was convinced that his mother was fast asleep," a hospital worker later told reporters.
Before long, photos of him watching over his mother from outside her window began making their way around Twitter. But sadly, it was accompanied by the news that ultimately, Al-Suwaiti's mother could not overcome the virus and passed away sometime this month.

In her passing, Rasma became one of more than 632,800 deaths recorded globally. However, compared to the rest of the world, Palestine has fared relatively well when it comes to to the virus. To date, the country has reported just over 10,000 positive cases and 67 deaths.
