The thieves, thought to be Roma gypsies, are seen shoving the woman out of the way and grabbing money This is the shocking moment a woman was mugged by two teenage girls as she tried to get money out of a cashpoint. The startling images show the two young women, thought to be Roma gypsies, seemingly without fear or shame as they round on the woman at the ATM. Taken in Paris, the photos show the two teenage thieves pushing the unidentified victim away before grabbing her cash and calmly walking away. The victim shouts out, and manages to grab one her assailants by her jumper at one point, but is otherwise powerless to stop the assault. Nobody bothers intervening in the crime on Wednesday lunchtime; one that has become an everyday occurrence in the most popular tourist city in the world – one visited by hundreds of thousands of Britons every year. The shocking pictures are particularly embarrassing to the Paris authorities because they were taken just a few hundred yards from a high-profile trial publicised as a clampdown on the growing menace posed by Roma gangs.
