Charles Hatfield was an American weather man who gained popularity because of his ability to make rain. He got so good that he was hired by government officials to produce rain, and some times to fill dams. He had a mixture of his chemicals in a massive galvanized evaporating tanks, he believed those chemicals attracted rain.

In 1916, he was paid $10000 by the San Diego city council to produce rain that would fill the Morena Dam reservoir. Charles’ much celebrated fame turned into disaster after he “made” the rain that flooded the city with more than 20 people dying.
