Found in Spain, the skull was found at a site known as Sima de los Huesos, or "pit of the bones". It contains several early human species such as Homo heidelbergensis and some homo species that are a mystery. One skull, which was found in 1990, stood out from the rest. Injuries present on the skull are thought to have been caused by another hominin (early human). The skull shows signs of head truama. The two holes at the top of its head are thought to have been caused when the person was pushed down a cave or pit. The injuries show no signs of healing, indicating that the person died soon after. It is thought that the person was killed with a stone axe or possible a wooden pole. Why the person was killed in unknown. We don't even know of this person was a man or a woman, but we do know that they were a young adult. They have possibly have been killed for recourses, but this is just a theory.
