The Titanic before sinking in 1912 and its wreckage these days

The remains of the Titanic are about 4km deep, 650km from the east of Canada, near the island of Newfoundland

First identified in 1985, the ship is currently broken in two, with each of the pieces 600 meters away from each other.

The bow (part of the front) is quite conserved, but the stern (back) is in ruins (images 7 and 8)

In its interior, the Titanic was consumed by diverse microbial colonies

So the ruins of the ship are too fragile to be hoisted up to the surface.

As an example, the Great Staircase became a great abyss (image 2)

The bodies of passengers have already been consumed by other organisms, although shoes and jewelry have already been found B%0020︎%0020︎

Misc expeditions have already occurred to the ruins of Titanic for scientific, documentary and tourist purposes.

For example, in 2005 James Cameron visited the location to film the "The Last Mysteries" and "Titanic's Final Moments: Missing Pieces"⌚

No accident had occurred on an expedition to see the Titanic...until June of that year

The OceanGate company, which has held on-site tourist dives since 2010, had already been warned by diverse professionals that their security model was "amateur"

This was revealed to the world in 2023, when its submarine, Titan, which charged 250 thousand dollars per person, imploded, killing 2 team members and 3 tourists.

In 1912, the "unfathomable" RMS Titanic departed a trip from Southampton, England, to New York, with 2200 passengers

It was the world's largest ever built ship until then.

On a moonless night, no winds and no waves, that made the iceberg that was ahead of the ship barely noticeable.

With enough lifeboats to save only half of the crew, 1500 people died: about 68% of passengers.

The accident led to different countries to review their maritime security standards, running until today.

Similarly, the accident with OceanGate, can start a number of high-income tourism regulations in risk areas
